Santa was kind to me in 2008

Christmas is a time where children are the happiest lot(these include young mothers too!).  With bag loads of Christmas presents in hand, who wouldn't be happy?

2008 Christmas is not a bad year for me too, as Santa has been kind to me since I am generally a good boy this whole year.

Let me share what i got for Christmas, although is not "bag full!"

(1)

(2)

(3)

1. CD of my favourite "auntie" singer by Wifey
2. Magazine organizer "box" from the Pilot.
3. muscle building T-shirt from Wifey's mum.

Present exchange in Christmas is not about how expensive of the item, is all about the thought and kindness you put in when you purchased the the gift.

Althought Christmas has passed, my door is still open for people who want to shower me with gifts..muahahahahah..

Meli Klismas and appy new year..!

My Trip to The Mighty Small Red Dot Down South.

It has been quite some time(about a yr +) that i have not been to Singapore. One Thursday last week, due to work commitment, i was required to do a day trip down south. Thanks to "Now, Everyone can fly" airline company, I was spared the arduous 4 hours drive down from KL, and the hassle of immigration check at the border. In the past they will be no luxury for us "peasant" to enjoy a 45 minutes flight to Changi, until Airasia came along. Good work Tony!

(Evacuation center?)

LCCT

I was at the LCCT by 0630 and the Terminal was packed with travelers. The raw deal of LCCT was it really...Low Cost.. it looks more like an evacuation center during a tragedy! The Plane took off right on time, Airasia was so on time!

Changi

I reach Changi T1 45 mins later. Airasia operated from T1 in Changi and fortunately Singapore do not descriminate low cost operator. Passenger got to use the aerobridge, inside the terminal is spanking warm and cozy, you enjoy the same luxuries as the other full fare passenger here. I always like Changi airport, unlike our KLIA which is cold, grey, dull and confusing. Changi always makes me feel warm, cosy and welcome. Sign board are big and clear, unlike KLIA. Malaysia Airport Authorities should learn a few tricks from Changi in passenger friendliness.

Taxi service in Singapore was ichiban!! The service are swift and reassuring. They are miles...or i say million miles apart from our KLIA Limo service back home. The Taxi here are clean and well maintain, driver are polite and work with professionalism. You feel safe traveling in a taxi like the ones here in Changi. Back in "Boleh Land", you will never know when the driver suddenly turn on you and demand extra "toll" money!

Singapore food is so cheap!
My business trip during the day was...hoo..hum...mmm, nothing special. I found out that living in Singapore atually is quite cheap! Ok..everyone will quick to snap arguing after the currency conversion, buying everything in Singapore is double!

Anyone of you who has this argument was a moron, a dim-wit! you cannot take currency conversion to measure affordability. take a look at this simple sum. all prices indicated here are real!

In SGP,

Teh panas = SGD 0.80
100 plus = SGD 1.30
Pork noodles = SGD 2.50
Fried beef noodles for 2 and a deepfried seafood tofu = SGD 19.00

An average Ah Beng in SGP earn around SGD 1800.00 per month , after paying all this stuff, he still left SGD 1776.40

Now in "Boleh Land",

Teh Panas = RM 1.30
100 plus = RM 1.70
Pork Noodles = RM 4.00
Fried beef noodles for 2 and a deepfried seafood tofu = SGD 28.00

An average Mutu here earn RM 1800.00 per month(maybe lower), after paying all this stuff, he still left RM 1765.00.

Now where was more expensive? who left the most money in his pocket? Ah Beng or Mutu!

Glorious Geylang

When everyone mentioned Geylang, eye brow will raise and automatically associated to "red light" district. Yes, it is a "approved" red light district, but in Geylang also, it is also a food heavan.

We go the opportunity to savor the famous "Lorong 9 Ngau Hor". The "Ngau Hor" is good but nothing fantastic to yell about, i think the secret ingredient in this dish is the small dash of black bean paste on the dish. I would prefer the "hor fun" to be more "for hau" or "fire smell", but looking at the crowd, there is no way they could prepare the dish in time! nevertheless, if you in Geylang, worth a try.

Duty Free Shopping
(Angry Micky :P )
you will see many sign saying :Changi airport is the cheapest airport shopping in Asia Pacific. yup, is no gimmick, Changi is actually cheaper than many airport destination in this region. Perfumes, Alchohol, cigi all are cheaper than KLIA, yup..even after taking currency conversion into consideration.
Warning: Malaysian are not allowed to purchase any duty free cigies or liquor back to boleh land.
note: most of the time, Custom in Malaysia do not bother to check la...

Last flight home
in order to enjoy the lowest fare, i took the last flight out of Changi back to LCCT. And in typical Malaysia's incompetent "tidak apa" attitude, The plane cannot park because the field marshal is absent! and all the passengers were made to wait more than 30 minutes in the plane! @#$%^&*(&^%*(__+

Impression of Singapore after all these years?

If Malaysia is "slow" than Singapore is "stiff". Despite all the economical gains of the country, a general Singaporens are still so insecure and anxious. Singaporeans are so fearful and conscious about their surrounding, as if the Gestapo is monitoring their behaviour. I do not blame them as Singapore society are built on a very competitive structure and law abiding structure, and it is difficult to relax oneself unless he/she is at home, Or when they came to Malaysia. It is the time they will let their hair down. No wonder Singaporeans went for holiday 2-3 times a year, They cant breath in their own country, is too suffocating.

Will i stay in Singapore if offered the chance? No, i will say, working there, maybe.

Please complain while you shop!

Christmas is coming and everyone is in shopping frenzy mode. What to buy for your parents, your kids, your loves ones...bla..bla.. With sale in almost every major shopping complex, planning every step to drain your hard earn money, it is vital for you to get what your money worth. We need to spend, yes you hear me right, "spend" but moderately and wisely. If everyone stop spending, there will be no economy left!

But with limited cash in your wallet, you need to make sure you get something that you really likes, and most of the time you need to "complain" just to get that.

about a couple of weeks back, When the Malaysia Year End Sale started, Isetan MDV was having a 3 day special sale for Isetan privelege card members, where card holders enjoy extra discount and other goodies. Wifey and me quickly grab this opportunity to buy ourself a few peasant gift for our family and of course ourselves too.

I got interested in a Jacket by KEYNG, and with an attractive price tag too. I quickly do a fitting and i am lucky that there is still size for me. I pass the jacket to QC dept(my wife) to scrutinise any possible defects. Her quick eye saw some loose thread and quickly reject the piece. But i was not yet to give up, so i politely asked the staff on duty if they was any new ones left in their store. Without thinking, she quickly snapped, "no more new ones, since this is discounted stock" and walked off. I got no choice and put back the jacket on to the hangar and walk away dissapointed. I relayed the incident to my wife later, and being an experienced shopper, she sensed something amiss and she quickly scouted another staff on duty, this time she approached a young lad with a name tag that say "Trainee". He briskly walk in to the store and later came back with a brand new ones!!!

Wtf!!! @@#$%5543@@###@@#$%^&*!!! it seems there were new one in their store after all! apparently, the first staff was lazy to check it out for me and took the convenience way "no stock" approach. I was really apalled by the conduct of the first staff. I guessed being a trainee or part timers had more motivation to serve the customers than a old or permanent staff. I really appreciates the dedicated attitude of the young lad, that is the correct attitude if you want to succeed in life.

This experience made me wiser the next time. I was in Sony Style of Sunway Pyramid looking for one lens cap. I asked the first person i saw in the shop and ask for this cap. Without blinking an eye, he told me "no stock". I asked him again, "how can you be so sure, since you did not move your butt to go and checked". Sensing i was not so pleased about his attitude, he slowly shashayed to the counter behind the shop and start looking for the part in the computer. I observed that he dont even know how to use the damn terminal!! His colleague have to check on his behalf and finally he walked back to me and with his "i told you so" look inform me the part is not available.

I really hope the owner or the management of the business, in this case, management of KEYNG, SONY should display big big contact details for customer to voice their complaint or compliments. Doing this will ensure repeat customers to their shop.

If i am the shop owner and i found out a staff with such attitude, i would have fired him/her on the spot! Whats the point to hire a person who suppose to conduct or facilitate a deal for you but instead of doing just that, he/she turned away business with his/her laziness or attitude!

So, please feel free to complain while you shop, it actually will do good to our country and society and the economy too!

and Merry christmas!

It sure taste like "SHIT"

How many times you have been disappointed by a review by a so called "food blogger"? Thank god I have not get "con" by their so call "food review" but i do know many of my friends fall prey to these nonsenses.

Just imagine a bunch of 20 + 1. 2 or 3 years old blogger got invited to a bistro, or posh restaurant and given free food, all in the guise of "food review". The operator of the outlets did not care about these "blogger" sense of taste, or lack of it together, all he/she wants is to make use of their blog traffic to advertise ther outlet. This trick still works as many people in this country still thinks every crap out of the internet is their holy grail in life!

How do a so call "Food blogger" review a dish if he/she know nuts about cooking? most of this so called "expert" do not have a slightest idea the difference between an onion and a shallots, besides the obvious size difference, or the types of ginger use in cooking or available in the fresh markets? for the record sake, some of them not even step into a wet market before!

To these "food blog" operator, if the decor of the place is "in", the music is "hip", then the food must be Good!! does not matter that the food is prepared by a 5 minute stay in the microwave oven.

Another thing to bear in mind is, free food will lead to "bias" review. How can you write bad about an outlet if you are getting freebies from them??

I still recalled that i once read blogs that promote the steamboat buffet in Sunway Area, Although i do not believe a single word from what they have written, but curiosity gets over me, i told myself i need to know what so great about this steamboat buffet and their "chicken wings". Despite warning from foodies friend, i finally pay a visit to a steamboat joint one weekend. I will talk about this is my next posting.

My guideline to a good food review reading are:

1. If the author is below 28 years old, dun bother, he/she still lack of exposure of "real cuisine" yet. most ptobaly still apeing fast food or microwave prepared Cafe stuffs

2. If he/she do not cook, read everything with a pinch of salt! Good eater sure have a few recipe to share!

3. Read his previous posting. If all posting are positive, delete his blog from your bookmark. Nothing in life is so perfect, including things that you put inside your mouth.

4. If all his review are FOC, his thoughts are biased!

If you so called yourself a "food reviewver" please post honestly, i know you get it free, but all of your reader dont! times are bad!

Then, you may ask:"since you are so selective, where you get your food idea?"

Well no particular guide book that i will refer to, the most reliable source is still my circle of foodies friend. If you insist that i gave you a food blog to read since your only friend is the internet, then this is my pick : Precious Pea

Where are you now?

(Maslows Hierarchy of Needs)

Anyone heard of Abraham Maslow? If you are from a Business streams during your college years, very likely that you do come across this name.

Abraham Maslow developed the Hierarchy of Needs model in 1940-1950 USA. This hierarchy of needs theory remain valid till today and it is widely use in understanding human motivation, nanagement training and personal development. to know more please refer to wikipedia here.

My question to you all is: Where are you now?

In a developing country like Malaysia, the majority of us are still struggling at the bottom 2 levels. We are too busy securing our jobs, in these bad times, trying to find our partner for life etc..

ever wonder, when you going to climb to the top? When and in what expense?

Please share with me your view, better still, your short cut to the top of this hierarchy :)

Agensi Angkasa Islam???

The racist Utusan wrote:

Agensi angkasa Islam bakal ditubuh

PUTRAJAYA 9 Dis.

Sheeesh....another spin by our government to the rural folks?

What everything an Muslim initiates have to coin with the word "Islam"?

What does a religion have to with science or a space program?

"agensi itu dianggotai oleh lapan orang lagi angkasawan Muslim termasuk beliau sendiri"

by a merely 9 persons so called "angkasawan", heading this space program, you can fly to the moon?

“Baginda berpendapat perlu digabungkan sembilan angkasawan Islam dari pelbagai negara terlebih dulu supaya mereka bersatu mengubah minda negara Islam agar lebih tertumpu kepada bidang sains dan teknologi,”

Well you are the richest among them, just cross your finger that your oil money do not end up buying more bombs and gun for the terrorist. You should use your oil money to help poorer muslim nations to build more hospital and school instead off investing in the US of A.

If a Muslim country wants to excel in science, there are many ways to it, a space program is the most rubbish. How about building more Universities with high calibre professors as a start? Formulate a policy that encourage R & D? Partnership with Top universities in the world like Caltech and MIT?

Islam was once a great religion who champion science and knowledge, but unfortunately, nowadays it no longer so. Muslim has to let go its pride and back to the basics, change their current backward mind sets and embrace modern principles in life. Only then one will become a progressive culture and hunger for knowledge.

Muslim world are hunger for recognition! Rethorics like an "Islam" Space Agency will not do any good! The world communities will give recognition to a true "Astronauts" not an "Angkasawan" or "Space Tourist"

Sexy Sony Vaio..!

(SOoooo...sexy...er...I mean the Vaio, or course)

Recently, i have the opportunity to attend Sony Vaio Launch Party at Sunway Surf beach. a host of activities were organised by Sony with fabalous prizes to boot as well(read: Earphones, MP3 players, Mii-Hifi as well).

(From Top to Bottom :SYT, Babe? Hulk!...oops..i mean hunk)

The most hilarous event was the Babe & Hunk Search. Participated by mostly young college Sweet Young Things. Well whether the contestant served up to the title of "babe", "hunk" or not, is up to you, you will be the judges...

The conclusion is, Sony is a cool company(many freebies and free food mar ^.^ )
If you in the market for a hip(very yea!) laptop. please check out the Vaio CS series. I know you will say the MAC Book is the ones to go for, but with the credit crunch nowadays, VAIO maybe the more logical choice. Please go to Sony for more poison!

Credit Crunch Jokes

I know times are bad, but life goes on, you still eat, and u still shit. To help you lower down the BP, please read the below:

All kudos back to Jay Leno:

1. The US has made a new weapon that destroys people but
keeps the building standing,. Its called the stock market - Jay Leno

2. Do you have any idea how cheap stocks are? Wall Street
is now being called Wal Mart Street - Jay Leno

3. The difference between a pigeon and a London investment
banker. The pigeon can still make a deposit on a BMW

4. What's the difference between a guy who lost everything in
Las Vegas and an investment banker? A tie!

5. The problem with investment bank balance sheet is that
on the left side nothing's right and on the right side nothing's
left.

6. I want to warn people from Nigeria who might be watching
our show, if you get any emails from Washington asking for money,
it's a scam. Don't fall for it - Jay Leno

7. Bush was asked about the credit crunch. He said it was
his favourite candy bar - Jay Leno

8. The rescue bill was about 450 pages. President Bush's copy
is even thicker. They had to include pictures - Jay Leno

9. President Bush's response was to meet some small business
owners in San Antonio last week. The small business owners
are General Motors, General Electric and Century 21 - Jay Leno

10. What worries me most about the credit crunch is that if
one of my cheques is returned stamped 'insufficient funds'. I
won't know whether that refers to mine or the bank's.

The "Black Dog" looses his ooomph?

(The Guinness word and associated logos are trademarks of Guinness & Co)

The ever favorite black beer in Malaysia, The "Guinness Stout" or fondly known by the chinese as "Black Dog" had undergone major change in taste recently. Many avid "black dog" drinker and loyal fans - including myself have found that the current Guinness is too light in body and taste. Now the macho "black dog" had turned too "pussy"!

This grouses against Guinness was true and serious, some "fans" even resorting in cursing Guinness by writting graffiti on the walls. I have read ones that say: "Guinness is a con job, they uses lousy ingredient now". There are many critisim of this kind. Please pay more attention next time you frequent a "Kedai Kopi"

Although Guinness try to potray the new "black dog" as the new smoother taste thru her massive marketing efforts, but putting less alchohol content(8% vs 6.7%?) definitely affects the good old taste, the marketing message do not work on hardcore "fans" like us.

I have switch to "Royal Stout" for now on, except for the Guinness Draught, which is still smooth and yummy!

I believed "Royal Stout" definitely enjoying a bumper sales now!!

It Happen again!!? When we will ever learn?

(Picture from Malaysiakini)

Condolences to all the victims of the Bukit Antarabangsa Landslide. It is so sad to hear that "recurring" landslide took away at least 4 lives in the latest incident.

I say "recurring" because since "the highland Tower" tragedy, landslide in that area happened almost annually, sometimes 2-3 times per year!. Despite the Government promise to "look" into it, various soil study by the "expert" over the years, various reports and studies done on this area show, development along the hillside of this area is "dangerous" or "unstable" this type of tragedy do happened again and again. I guess the authorities will put is as an "Act of god" , blaming everything to the forces of nature?

I guess the will of the unscrupulous, greedy developer are much stronger than the will of god.

For your info, 11th December 2008 is the 15 years aniversaries of the "Highland Tower Tragedy"

anyone who forgot about this sad tragedy, please read here

I sincerely hope that someone will take responsibility this time..... god is innocent!

KLIA, Pride of "Boleh Land"

We have multi-billion ringgit infrastructure to "blow water" to our foreign friend, but when our foreign friend first step his/her foot on Malaysian soil, the first disgrace of our "Malaysia boleh" already there to welcome them.

The above shots are taken in KLIA on the 2nd Dec 2008. I was there to receive my elder bro, who is coming back from Cyprus via Cairo. On the arrival information terminal, was this huge alert popups windows from symantec anti-virus, notifying that a virus, had infected the host computers handling the information terminal. The irony was that no one in the IT or from the airport maintenence team cares to ged rid of the alert popups! this popups was blocking a huge part of the screen makes poor soul like me difficult to read the display information! and hundreds of these terminal have this "irritating popup windows" showing in the entire KLIA. Is that a good impression to our tourist??

This is another example of "first class facilities, third class maintenence"

"Malaysia boleh!"

Malaysia version of Ku klax klan! = GGMM

Ku Klax Klan = they got style!

GGMM = Typical Fucktard

"Malaysia Boleh!" yes, we finally have our own hate site, in the guise of GABUNGAN GRADUAN MELAYU MUDA or GGMM.

GGMM is a racist group who promotes "Ketuanan Melayu". If you read their blog carefully, GGMM call the chinese "Cina Babi" and the indian "Keling"

GGMM is actually comprises mostly member of UiTm "graduan" who failed to secure a job and hardly speak any decent english. However, these members move around Kuala Lumpur swiftly in their modified Modenas. Their main thrill in life is to become a respected "Mat Rempit" or "Mat Cemerlang" in Umno terms.

Yes, this also the body of so call Malay graduates who like to hold demonstration to cause traffic jams and gain publicity.

Their most accomplished barking event:

1. Submitting memorandum to Penang State government threaten to sue if the state continue to put up multi-lingual road sign.

2. 6 member of this fucktard group "march" to Wisma MCA to submit yet another memorandum to Datuk Dr, Chua Soi Lek demanding Datuk Dr Chua to retract the "Ketuanan Melayu" critisim and apologised or be sued at the tune of millions of ringgit.

In both case, nobody give a hoot about their demand.

GGMM also threaten to sue anyone or any party who challenge "Ketuanan Melayu" or "NEP" policy with their war chest of RM 126.20

the existence of GGMM actually serves a purpose to society, which is to give us a good laugh! "a good laugh a day, keep the doctor away"

And my thanks to GGMM for calling us chinese "Cina Babi" because the babi is so cute!

cute babi!

Close encounter with a "dead fish"

("Angry" Dead Fish)

"dead fishes" are so dangerous, especially when you want to fried them. And they know when to strike too. Everything was fine when i dip the fish into the hot oil and the fish is turning to golden brown nicely.

(Battle ground)

When i go near to the wok to get something not suspecting anything amiss, "praap" suddenly the golden brown dead fish start twitching and splash hot oil on my hand..

(the casualty)

the sensation is "si peh stim", according to Gregory House(from the TV series "House"), pain will release endorphin, no wonder sometime we associate pain with stim la! ^.^

Doctor said burning pain is the most painful, follow by labour pain. So guys if you are wondering how labour pain feels like, just go splashed yourself with some hot oil!

I got my final revenge on the dead fish - By eating them all...haw haw..Burrrrpppp,,,excuse me!
