Blogsphere was a buzz recently with the "hoo haa" of the "Sammy" fiasco. She blurted out insensitive remarks about our Indian Friends in her blog after she lost her mobile phone(most probably an expensive one with all her cute-cute themes and very "yay" mobile tunes. After that is hellish days for her. Padan muka!
Yes, I do not agree on what she had written on her blog. Robbers, thieves, muggers, rapist and other heinous crime are committed by every race in Malaysia. But i do not blamed her too for blurting out such an irresponsible remark, because i bet she has been educated and make believed that this is the truth! She is only 22 years old, and this gal from the Generation "y" or "z"? huh! had been living in the protected cocoon of hers, given a constant feed of false stereotype and assumption about certain race by her parents and our failed education system. She most probably thinks the Malays are associated to "lazy" too. IMHO, The parties that should received all these flak by fellow Malaysian is her parents, not her.
Products like her are abundant in our society, try asking youngsters in her age group. I believed most of them have no clue about how Malaysian society are formed, the "real" Malaysian history and our country's politics. All they concerned is their boyfriends/girlfriends, hand phones, PS3 and their others fantasies.
Perception over a certain race need to be improved in this country. Be it Malays, Chinese, Indians, kadazans etc. Malaysia need more cultural awareness programs for our youth. Only one appreciates the culture of another, racial harmony is truly achieved and valued.
I hope the Pakatan Rakyat government will organized more event of such nature, to bridge the gap among the races in Malaysia. Forget about the Barisan National, This racist coalition still sanctioned a "Youth Orientation" program by "BIRO TATANEGARA" a racist, neo-Nazi doctrine department of the Home Ministry.
At the mean time i hope the police will give her a call and scared the shit out of her!
